Circuit City complaint by Matavano
Today I visited the Dadeland Store in Miami-FL, to look at some PS3 games. I noticed that the game GOD OF WAR was not available on PS3 but did see it for the PS2 system. I proceeded to ask two separate Circuit City associates if the game would play on my PS3 80gig, they both assured me that it would play fine. I trusted both their expertise(after all they do get paid for that) and purchased the game. I get home and try to play the game and it is not playable on my PS3. I called and an associate told me "I am sorry sir but after you open the game, there is nothing we can do." I did not accept that and immediately went back to the store after the phone call, spoke with manager Mauricio and he said that I should have told the associate which version of the PS3 I had. That is absurd!!! The main reason why Circuit City pays to have floor help is exactly to guide the customers for purchases like this. Since when the customer needs to know more than the associates!? Why didn't they instead ask me which version, I would have told them that I had no idea so after that, they would be able to instruct me not to buy before I could get that information. They did not ask me which version, they asked me how big the hard drive was, and if it was the 80gig then it would "definitely work". Well it didn't.

The manager offered a gift card for the amount of the purchase but did not agree that the associates were to blame. I left very upset because I was treated like all of it was my fault, when all I was guilty of was to trust Circuit City's employees when I thought that they were there to help but instead I found out later that the customer is always wrong when it comes to the return policy.

This is not about the money, believe you me $20 will not make or break my bank, this is about the attitude that Circuit City employees are not professional enough or are not trained to help customers before making a purchase. I hope that this e-mail does not go in vain and that one day there won't be websites out there full of complaints against Circuit City (I have found plenty of those websites.) but the big CEO's are too busy to listen to the customers that are keeping Circuit City in business.

You got a gift card, so why are you throwing such a temper tantrum? The only person should be writing a letter is one of your parents about why they sold a mature 17+ game to an eleven year old such as yourself. The people that should be upset are your parents for allowing you to purchase the game. They should be the ones writing this letter not you.

Way to go now all because of your $20.00 gift card you forced them to file bankruptcy. Way to go.
